  Mike Sanborn

  Owner/Principal

  Michael Sanborn is President and active Principal of Sanborn Electric. An OSHA 30-certified master electrician licensed in four states, he brings extensive experience and a disciplined, safety-first approach to serving commercial, industrial and residential clients. A 1983 graduate of Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School’s electrical program, Michael proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1983-87 as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate 2nd Class. He deployed aboard the USS Nimitz as a squadron shift supervisor for multiple cruises, most notably during the 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847. His military service and leadership instilled a dedication to precision and reliability that Michael brings to his work today. Following his naval service, Michael rejoined the family business and advanced through roles of increasing responsibility before purchasing the company from his brother in 2005. Michael’s lifelong commitment to community began with earning the rank of Eagle Scout and continues through his active involvement in the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight of both the Amesbury and Salisbury councils, and his support of the electrical apprenticeship program at Whittier Tech. Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with family, saltwater fishing, and waterfowl hunting with his son Ethan and cherished hunting dog, Clovis.

  Ethan Sanborn

  Lead Electrician

  Ethan Sanborn is a master electrician licensed in three states, and a second-generation member of the Sanborn Electric team. Prior to serving in the family business, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management from UMass Lowell and graduated from Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School’s rigorous electrical program in 2012. He brings nearly two decades of hands-on electrical experience, practical business acumen, and a deep commitment to his community to the Sanborn team. Ethan began cultivating his leadership and team-building skills as a hockey player and continues to strengthen those qualities through service projects with his local Knights of Columbus council. Outside of work, Ethan enjoys year-round outdoor activities, from the water to the woods, with family and with his steadfast Labrador Retriever, Archer.

  Laureen Sanborn

  Customer/Office Support

  Laureen Sanborn serves as Customer/Office Support at Sanborn Electric. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Before joining Sanborn Electric, she worked at Dynamics Research Corporation, where she led a team supporting special projects for the U.S. Navy through configuration data analysis. Since 2005, Laureen has worked alongside Michael in managing the family business, overseeing a wide range of administrative and operational responsibilities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and human resources. Outside of work, Laureen enjoys stargazing, playing Scrabble, boating, and spending time with her family – especially her grandson, granddogs, and the family’s two chocolate labs, Lucy and Clovis.
