Backup Power Solutions You Can Depend On
Whether the need is for a commercial standby generator, or power planning as part of a broader project, we help clients understand their options and implement systems that fit the need, the building, and the budget. From installation to ongoing support, we focus on delivering dependable systems that provide peace of mind and long-term reliability.
Several terms are used to describe a backup power system, including backup generator, optional / standby power, and emergency backup power.
Let us design your backup power system, so you can avoid the risk of downtime associated with power loss. Sanborn Electric designs and installs backup power systems from 20KW single phase to 600KW three phase.
Unsure of your needs for backup power?
We work with your utility provider to determine the exact KW demand appropriate to your facility.
Only need to protect a portion of your facility?
We can provide a Demand Study using our Fluke 1730 Energy Logger, to eliminate any guessing or oversizing, and identify the right size and capacity for your needs.
We’ll design the system you want to meet your current and future needs
We’re not a manufacturer’s sales agent. We work closely with several trusted generator brands, which allows us to offer you multiple options and based on your needs and budget. Our relationships with manufacturer’s representatives ensure that through your service contracts with them, you always have access to highly-trained technicians and current service bulletins.
Does your facility require an NFPA “legally required” or “Emergency backup” listing?
Sanborn Electric has extensive experience working with and installing 2 hour fire rated wiring methods such as type MI (Mineral Insulated) cabling, and the knowledge to help you meet this requirement through building material types.
As with all of our projects, we can provide the turnkey services you require, or we can coordinate with other vendors that you may already rely on.
Any electrician can install a backup generator. Few have the expertise and experience to design a cost-effective system to meet your unique needs. Contact us to discuss your needs today!
Project Profile
Reliable Power for a Mission-Critical Facility
Challenge/concern: Aries System, a technical online publishing company, needed to expand on their existing backup power system. Loss of power for any reason was unacceptable.
Solution: We designed and installed a system using both diesel and natural gas generators interconnected with multiple automatic transfer switches. Each power buss had its own individual Kohler 30KW generator, when cross connected automatically with an adjoining power buss generator, each generator could power the specific buss, both busses together, or the adjoining buss only.
Result: Multiple fuel systems provided an additional level of survivability, the entire system was networked using the Kohler Monitor Three System, any trouble condition anywhere in the system would notify personnel immediately via their security system interconnect, enabling them to check on the trouble status via the web based software program.
